Named for the year that Mariposa was largest county in California,1850 opened its doors to the public on May 1st, 2013 and has proudly been serving quality, fresh food ever since. You'll fall in love with its addictive fried chicken - soaked in brine, double-dipped for the ultimate crust, they drizzled with a ginger-soy syrup that completes this mouthwatering creation. Seasonal beers are available at the restaurant but they are on their way to becoming a full-on brewery and tasting room. The local favorite is the Mariposa Golden Ale, brewed with local Parker's Farm honey. Another flagship beer is Jake's War Paint Red Ale and pairs well with the prime rib-eye. One of the most famous burger served there is called "The Bootjack" for the community just outside of Mariposa. It is a fresh, hand-formed patty topped with thick apple wood -smoked bacon, beer-battered onion rings, cheddar cheese, and signature house-made BBQ sauce. Be sure to try one of the "twisted burgers" which range from a classic burger to a Sloppy Jake's, a double-patty Cowboss, and an amazing over-the-top 50/50 bacon-beef burger.

From humble beginnings in the garage behind the house, they have expanded and are moving to a new location. Only being able to brew about 100 gallons of beer per day in 12 hours, they could not keep up with demand at the restaurant. The goal is to be open to the public by April 2020 with an onsite tasting room, retail merchandise store, live music, and a seven barrel brewing system that will enable them to distribute beer within a sixty mile radius.
